AHCA Submits Comments to CMS on Requirements of Participation Via Email release 10/14/15

AHCA has submitted extensive comments to CMS regarding the proposed rule on Requirements of Participation. The Association is adding its voice to the thousands of others who have told CMS that the proposed rule asks for too much, too soon, and at too great a cost. The comment letter has been posted on the AHCA website and is available for your review. The comments are based on comprehensive research and reflect member feedback and input.

The submission also includes estimated cost tables that are provided in separate appendices. Appendix A is a QAPI implementation task list including costs associated with each task. Appendix B includes cost analysis of an infection prevention and control program.

Because AHCA strongly opposes CMS’s arbitration-related proposals, our arbitration comments were submitted separately to underscore the importance of this issue to the entire long term care profession.
We’ve also issued a press release to announce AHCA’s submission of comments on the proposed rule and highlight some of our key concerns.

We encourage you to read AHCA’s comments so that you are familiar with the position the Association has taken on this important proposed rule.
