NASL Winter Conference Update
Reliant Rehabilitation along with other members of the National Association for the Support of Long Term Care came together in February for its annual NASL Legislative Winter Conference. This year’s conference focus was on action items related to Chronic Care initiatives, Section GG, Telehealth and the future of Part B coding and proposed changes to reimbursement for Post-Acute Care under a Value Based system. As part of NASL’s continued effort to bring the PAC world together, representatives of the Home Health sector shared with them their efforts on the Hill and how they are working to improve care coordination and advancement of telehealth for home care residents and their physicians.
Winter conference always delivers on surprises. This time the surprise was undesirable. CMS released its plan for targeted medical review catching Part B providers off guard. Anticipation of working with CMS changed to confusion over CMSs targeted review plan. Much work is needed to reach clarity and NASL and its various partners on the Hill continue to do this.
